Antique Chinese Primitive Gathering Basket Hand Woven Willow w/wood handle and iron hinge detailed basked with wide wood handle and iron claw form details. This basket was made by a master artisan evidenced by the shape, materials, and perfection in the weave.
This basket is in good condition with tight weaving. The one corner appears to have been repaired at some times years ago as seen in the photos. In researching this item, other sites with similar baskets estimate that they were made in the 1890s, but this basket has not been appraised as to age.
Very attractive and a good strong useful basket.
