Description

This is by far the most UNIQUE Victorian Hair Watch chain that I have ever seen.  I have scoured the internet and have not been able to find another one even remotely like it.
The ribbon-like flat woven hair motif measures approx. 1/2″ wide which is unusual in itself but the most charming and unusual part of the chain is the 14K HUMAN HAND MOTIF that holds a ring on one end of the chain.  The highly dimensional hand makes a fist around the wire ring.  As you can see from the pictures, the hand is quite finely executed. The center gold piece and other end of the chain are also 14K.  The center piece is 3/4″ wide by 1/4″ thick and is lightly hand engraved on both sides with either the initials CK or HL.  The hand motif end measures approx. 1 1/2″ long including the wire ring.  The entire chain including both swivel and latching end hooks measures approx. 15″ long.
The condition of the piece is
extremely fine
.  The
hand is in pristine
condition as is the center piece.  The other end piece does display some dents as well as a tiny hole when viewed under 10X magnification.  The well executed woven hair also appears to be in excellent condition.  The non karat gold swivel as well as the latching hook on the other end of the chain both operate as they should.  The entire piece is quite sound and could be used today as it was originally intended although I believe this piece to be MUSEUM WORTHY.
Please note:  The
hooks
on both ends of the chain are
not karat gold
.
All other gold parts of the piece have been acid tested and I guarantee them to be at least 14K gold.
To be clear:   These parts are the findings that are attached to the hair on either end and the middle gold piece.
Also please note:  Most of the hair work watch chains that are currently available have gold filled findings.  It is rare to find one that has 14K.
Please look at the pictures as they do a much better job in the description than I can with words.  Please ask questions.  I am more than happy to respond.
